NACF announces 2026 LIFT program for emerging Native artists

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) has announced the return of its LIFT – Early Career Support for Native Artists program for a fifth year. The national initiative gives awards to emerging Native artists to support the development and completion of new creative projects.
Launched to address gaps in early-career funding, LIFT focuses on artists whose work engages community, culture, and social impact. Past and current projects supported through the program have explored issues including cultural sovereignty, environmental sustainability, social and environmental justice, healing practices, and systemic change within Native communities.
Each selected artist receives a $15,000 award along with additional professional support intended to help participants refine their artistic practices, advance their careers, and establish themselves as contributing creative voices in their fields. The program is designed as a career-launching opportunity for artists in the early stages of professional development.
Applications for the 2026 LIFT cycle are open through March 19 at 8 p.m. PT. Additional program details and application guidelines are available through NACF by clicking here.
