American Indian Community House Opens 2026 Artist Residency Applications

The American Indian Community House is opening its 2026 Residence Program on Governors Island. The program is a two-month residency in New York City that offers Native and Indigenous artist resources and funds to develop their artistry. 

This will occur between the months of May and October, where two artists will be paired to travel to Governors Island every weekend to work on a project to present. 

Benefits include: 

  • $4,000 stipend broken up into two $2,000 payments paid at the end of each month
  • $300 in workshop funds
  • Opportunity to utilize space both at Governors Island and at the AICH office 
  • Opportunity to meet other Native & Indigenous artists. 

Those interested have until March 31 to apply.
