Cheech Marin Center seeks proposals for Spring ’26 exhibitions

The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of the Riverside Art Museum, known as The Cheech, has issued a call for exhibition proposals to program its Altura Credit Union Community Gallery for Spring 2026.
The Community Gallery, located at the museum’s entrance, is dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging and mid-career artists with roots in the Inland Empire.
Selected exhibitions will be on view from March 28 through September 13, 2026.
A curatorial fee of $1,000 will be awarded per half-gallery exhibition, with $2,000 provided for projects using the entire gallery. Additional stipends for organizing and participating in exhibition-related programming may be available. The museum’s professional staff will support selected artists and curators by coordinating art loans, overseeing installation and marketing, and hosting an exhibition reception at the museum’s expense.
The call is open to curators and artists who have roots in the Inland Empire.
There is no application fee. Learn more at https://riversideartmuseum.org/call-for-exhibition-proposals-altura-credit-union-community-gallery-at-the-cheech/
