Eiteljorg Indian Market is a Midwest must-visit

The 33rd annual Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival will take place June 28–29 in downtown Indianapolis, celebrating and amplifying Native voices. More than 100 artists from American Indian, First Nations, and Alaska Native artists will showcase and sell jewelry, pottery, beadwork, paintings, carvings, and more in and around the Eiteljorg Museum.
“The Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival is truly special to me – not just as someone who organizes it, but as a Mohawk woman who knows how important it is to have a space where Native voices are honored and celebrated,” Connor Richberg (Mohawk), Eiteljorg’s Indian Market and Festival Manager told Fry Bread. “As soon as someone arrives, they’re surrounded by incredible artists selling at their booths, seeing and smelling the food & beverage being prepared and enjoyed, and overall an atmosphere that’s full of life. It’s one of the top juried Native art markets because of the exceptional quality of work by artists from across Turtle Island – each bringing their own perspective, skill, and story. Whether you’re a returning guest or joining us for the first time, this year brings fresh experience and unforgettable moments. Come with friends and family or explore on your own – either way it’s not to be missed!”

This year’s festival features exciting additions of new Native food and beverage vendors and dynamic performances by Indigenous Enterprise, a world-renowned intertribal dance group blending traditional and hip-hop styles; Amy Bruton Bluemel (Chickasaw Nation), a storyteller and educator; and Darren Thompson (Ojibwe/Tohono O’odham), a Native American flutist known for soulful, immersive performances–and his word and photo contributions to Fry Bread.
The event also includes artist demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages. The festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, rain or shine. Tickets include museum admission, with discounts available online. Limited Edition T-shirts featuring artwork by Pahponee and the new Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival logo by Victor Pascual are available in the Museum Store. Free parking is offered at White River State Park while spaces last.
