Seed library invites public to create Indigenous signs for gardens

The Xinachtli Seed Library in Phoenix marks its one-year anniversary as an official seed library and is inviting its community to join a community art night as part of its festivities.

At the community art night, supporters of and visitors to the library will create plant signage that honors Indigenous languages for use in community garden spaces. The event is also an opportunity to learn the craft of Indigenous printmaking.

Participants of any skill level are invited to join, and all ages are welcome. The art night will be Thursday, January 29, from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at Tonatierra Nahuacalli, 802 N. 7th St. in Phoenix.
