Native Authors Program Calling for Minnesota-Based Screenwriters

All My Relations Arts is seeking Minnesota-based screenwriters for the fourth initiative of its Native Authors Program. The program has previously supported the development of Native authors in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, children’s fiction, and nonfiction. This year’s program, focusing on screenwriting, will be facilitated by author, screenwriter, and filmmaker Tashia Hart, Red Lake Anishinaabe.
The chosen cohort will complete a 12-month intensive under the guidance of Hart. Professional development topics include preparing a script, working with an editor, developing a pitch, the drafting process, scene development, and the business of writing. Fellows will also have the chance to work with mentor authors and guest speakers, receiving advice on financial support and furthering professional development.
Fellows must attend monthly group meetings and complete a capstone project at the end of the program. They will receive a $150/month stipend.
All My Relations Arts operates the All My Relations Gallery and focuses on providing the public with education about Indigenous history, culture, and contemporary experiences through the arts.
Applications are now open and will close on Dec. 20, 2026. To apply and for additional details, click here.
