We Are the Watershed to host event on conservation, collective action in Maine

We are the Watershed is hosting a two-day event between May 1-2, 2026 at hte Eastport Arts Center, in Maine. It is to celebrate and conserve the watershed of Passamaquoddy Bat and the Skutik River. 

The event will discuss eco-grief and collective action towards revitalizing the health of the Peskotomuhkatikuk– the homelands and waters of the Peskotomuhkati [Passamaquoddy] Peoples. 

We are the Watershed is seeking creative input throughout the Peskotomuhkatikuk to add to the publication to be sold at the event. The funds will go to community-building efforts, public engagement and restoration efforts.

We are the Wasteland is also displaying physical works for an exhibition that will be displayed from May 1 to 15. Artist under 18 will keep all the proceeds and artists over 18 will keep 70% of the proceeds. Artists can submit their work online.
