Oklahoma’s First Americans Museum brings back holiday art market this weekend

The First Americans Museum (FAM)’s fifth annual Winter Holiday Art Market (WHAM@FAM) kicks off in Oklahoma City on Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and runs on December 7 during the same hours.
The museum’s free, two-day event will showcase the wares and handicraft of more than 40 Indigenous artists and well as family-friendly activities throughout the museum. Apparel, fine art, jewelry, pottery, textiles, home decor, books, comics, and the 2025 FAM-exclusive holiday ornament designed by Two-Spirit artist, Kristin Gentry (Choctaw Nation), are among the various goods in store for visitors.
The museum is also welcoming donations of new, unwrapped toys and new or gently used coats benefiting the Comanche Nation’s Indian Child Welfare Program. Donations will be collected from noon to 4 p.m. on both days of the event, and donors can get a professional photos with Indigenous Santa in exchange. Santa will also be available for a meet-and-greet from 11 a.m. to noon each day, with no donation required.
“Having Indigenous Santa at WHAM@FAM has become a beloved tradition, bringing joy and connection to families of all backgrounds,” said FAM Public Programs Manager Marci Hensley (Comanche Nation/Kiowa/Otoe-Missouria/Winnebago). “Supporting the Comanche Nation’s Indian Child Welfare Program is especially impactful; it reminds us that caring for children and giving back is at the heart of who we are. Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating art, culture, and generosity this season.”
WHAM@FAM is part of the larger mission of the First Americans Museum to celebrate Native cultures and strengthen community. In addition to visiting with Indigenous Santa, attendees can enjoy special FAMstore discounts and hands-on activities.
