Katarokwi Indigenous Market returns to Kingston’s Confederation Park for 2026 season

An Indigenous market celebrating art, food, and culture is back in downtown Kingston, N.Y., this spring, with monthly gatherings planned along the waterfront through the end of summer.

The Katarokwi Indigenous Market has moved to Confederation Park, across from City Hall at 211–225 Ontario St., and will run on the last Sunday of each month from May through September. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with market dates falling on May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30, and September 27.

The market brings together Indigenous-owned businesses including beading artists, food vendors, artisans, and musicians, offering community members and visitors a chance to connect with Indigenous makers in an outdoor waterfront setting.

Each market date coincides with community-led Sacred Fires held in Confederation Park — monthly gatherings lit in the spirit of healing and in honor of children who went missing or survived residential schools, as well as their families and the communities still living with the effects of that history.

Indigenous artists, artisans, chefs, musicians, and other makers interested in becoming vendors can apply by contacting the City of Kingston at contactus@cityofkingston.ca. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
